James R. Callan

With a degree in English, James Callan always wanted to write. But, for over thirty years, he pursued a life of a mathematician and computerscientist.  

Once his children were grown, he returned to his love of writing. His first two books were computer oriented. But mysteries were always his favorite. After several books, a publisher who liked his characters asked himto write a book to help writers develop better characters.  Character: The heartbeat of the novel led to How to Write Great Dialog.  But his love of mystery remained his primary interest. He presently has eighteen published and has picked up a number of awards.
