2008 Writer's Roundup - NETWO's 22ndt Annual Writers' Conference
in Northeast Texas

The next NETWO meeting will be at the Western Sizzlin' on August 14, 2008 starting at 6:30 p.m. Come join us. Directions are given below the pictures.

As usual, we'll try to start at 6:30, so if you want to eat, come a bit early, grab a bite to eat, and visit with other writers..

It will also include a critique session, so bring something to read (about 10 minutes). Of course, that's not necessary, but it helps improve your writing. If you need more information, call Georgia at 903-856-6724.

We will have the anthology, A Treasure Box, at the meeting. Great book. Be sure to pick up a few! As Jackie pointed out, these make great gifts for family and friends alike. A great idea is for each of us to buy a copy to give to a local library. That gives NETWO a presence in many libraries in the area. Or buy one and put it in the local nursing home. NETWO member price is only $10 -- clearly a bargin. The regular price, imprinted on the book, is $12.95. If you can't wait, call Bryan Freeman 903-588-2593 to get some before the next meeting. Or pick some up at the Pizza Inn in Pittsburg at the Saturday noon gatherings of NETWO members.

Regular NETWO meetings are on the second Thursday of each month. They are generally held at the Western Sizzin' Restaurant. From I 30, take the US 271 exit (regular 271, NOT the Business 271 exit) -- that's exit 160 -- and go south about 1/2 mile. Western Sizzin' is on the right. Just ask for the room with the writers.

A short business meeting begins at 6:30 pm. A program follows the business meeting. This may consist of a critique session, a speaker, a tutorial, or a workshop. It's a good idea to bring a something to read -- maybe 10 - 12 minutes long.

If there is not a specific location for the next meeting given at the top of this page, call Georgia at 903-856-6724 or check back here if the next meeting is still a couple of weeks away. Sometimes NETWO may meet at another site - say for a special party or celebration.

If you join NETWO, you will receive a monthly newsletter which will always give the location of the next meeting, as well as information on activities, and usually some samples of writing from members.
