NETWO Announces Dates for 2007 Conference

The Northeast Texas Writers' Organization (NETWO) has set the dates for the 2007 conference as, April 27 and 28, 2007.

Venue - NETWO also announced that the 2007 conference will be moved to Camp Shiloh, between Winnsboro, Pittsburg and Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Located on the shores of Lake Bob Sandlin, on Highway 21, Camp Shiloh offers excellent facilities, and a beautiful setting.

The organizing committee believes this site will provide improved facilities, a beautiful setting, a separate dining facility adjacent to the conference hall (no distraction around lunch time), excellent space for private interviews with agent, editor, or publisher, a wider variety of accomodations, and good rest room facilities. The grounds offer activities for family members not directly involved in the conference, as well as conference participants - when they are not in meetings. Check out some pictures by clicking here.

If you don't know where Camp Shiloh is, check out the maps and driving directions.

Faculty - We have a commitment from a top notch New York agent, an editor from Penguin / Putnam, plus a publisher of children's books. We have a children's writer who has not only won awards, but who has had a book made into a TV movie and another formed the basis for a children's TV series. And a romance writer who has won a hat full of awards for many of her books. Plus, a writer of mysteries, comic books, movies--you name it-- he's done it, and done it successfully. Check out their bios by clicking here.

Workshop - In 2007, NETWO will also present a dynamic workshop on Friday afternoon, April 27. This is hands-on, writing instruction by a master motivator, Dusty Richards. If you've heard Dusty, you know why he is a favorite speaker at conferences. Don't miss out of this. Seating for the workshop will be limited, and is strictly first come, first served. You must be signed up for the conference first in order to add on this workshop. And at $20, this workshop is a big bargin. Click here for more details.

Accommodations - More information on lodging will be available on this website in the next month. But, one new option will be dorm space at a very affordable price, in the same building as the main conference site. For more information on accommodations, click here.

Conference Dinner - This year, the Writers Roundup will close with a dinner. This is optional, but the cost is only $12. The winners of the NETWO Short Story Contest will be announced at the dinner, as well as some NETWO and conference awards.

But most of all, it will be a final opportunity to network. Hopefully, you will have met many writers, plus the agent, editor, and publisher. With all the presentations during the day, you might not have gotten a phone number or e-mail address you wanted. Besides a good meal, you'll have time to collect those contacts, and maybe make one last "good impression" on an editor, agent or publisher.

Please check back here often for updated information on the 2007 Writers' Roundup.
